This plane is pictured in Roger K. Smith’s “Patented Transitional And Metallic Planes In America – Volume 2” (page 250). It looks very similar to a large side rabbet plane, except that the cutters have been set up differently. Side spurs are mounted on each end of the skate forward of the cutters.
Once owned by collector Darrell Chapnick, it has since been sold and its whereabouts is currently unknown.
As it is a unique plane, no established valuation can be given.
